I'm hoping there is someone out there who can translate the colloquial phrase "to shoot blanks" into Swedish. I was trying to explain to a cousin the other night that another cousin of mine has been unable to get pregnant because her husband is "shooting blanks" - i.e. his semen doesn't have any sperm in it. I hope nobody takes offence to this. I have a lot of really good Swedish dictionaries that, even if there is no direct equivalent of English terms and phrases, explain in Swedish what the English expression means but couldn't find anything for this at all.
